Pixel vs Conversions API: what's the difference?

Set up correctly, CAPI recovers a meaningful share of events the pixel alone misses — Meta's own materials have cited match-rate and cost-per-result improvements in aggregate case studies, though the size of that lift varies enormously by vertical and traffic source, and any specific percentage you see quoted is worth treating as a range rather than a promise until you have your own account's numbers to check it against.
Why do affiliates fire pixels on pre-landers?

That reveals the pixel ID and which standard events fire client-side, which is useful information a paid spy tool cannot always give you in regulated verticals.
This is the one place manual research beats automated spy tools rather than just supplementing them.
